Lucy Chesire, TB/HIV Advocate Speaks Out on BBC's Radio 4 Woman's Hour

Lucy Chesire06/06/08 - Kenyan TB/HIV advocate, Lucy Chesire, gave a fantastic interview on BBC Radio 4's Woman's Hour. According to the BBC archives this was the first time that the programme had addressed TB for over 5 years. The programme is listened to by more than 5 million people.

Lucy said; "TB is treatable, it's preventable and it is curable. It costs less than $10 to put someone on six month regimen of treatment... globally we have to advocate for new vaccines, drugs and diagnostics for TB because we know that the ones in existence are out dated. It is high time that we had better tools in place. We need political commitment and research that will bring better drugs and diagnostics."
