Zambian patient TB/HIV activist is recognised as joint first participant of the Kochon Prize.

02/11/06 - TB/HIV activist Winston Zulu has been jointly awarded the first Kochon Prize with Indian Deputy Director of TB. This is the first time the prize has been given in conjunction with the Stop TB Partnership: The prize was awarded at the opening ceromony of the IUATLD in Paris. Winston Zulu has been a tireless TB advocate in his native Zambia for some years and has lost many members of his family.

Winston is co-founder of the Kara-Kabe programme for HIV/AIDS and is the Southern African Representative for UK and International advocacy organization, TB Alert.
