One to one mentoring

Having tuberculosis can feel very lonely. Many people get support throughout TB/MDR-TB treatment from a dedicated healthcare worker, nurse, or other trusted person helping them to stay on course and take their drugs. However, many people have emotional issues around having TB/MDR-TB, their own personal social circumstances and/or coping with stigma and do not feel that they get all of the support that they need.

The Tuberculosis Survival Project can offer 'One to One Mentoring' by email for people who feel they need extra support or who want to talk to someone who has had TB/MDR-TB themself. However, this is not a medical advisory service and can not offer answers to questions of a clinical nature. We are not doctors and are therefore not qualified to do so. If you have a question of a clinical nature then speak to the person delivering your care, such as your TB doctor or nurse. We can however offer the hand of friendship and emotional support to people that feel they need it.

If you think that this is something that could help you and want to find out more please email the editor of this website by clicking on the button below.
